Nicholas Joseph DeYulio, 72, passed away at his home in Stamford surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 3, 2018. He was born in Stamford on November 7, 1945 to the late Victor Joseph and Linda Cantarano DeYulio.
At the age of 17, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps, where he spent four years, including a tour in Vietnam. When he returned home from the US Marine Corps he went to work with his father in the family business, DeYulio Sausage Company. Nicky dedicated his whole life to growing DeYulio’s; his dreams and creativity are what made DeYulio’s what it is today. He was very dedicated to the cleanliness of the company, which was demonstrated by his daily cleaning of Myrtle Avenue and Elm Street. He took great pride in the spotlessness of DeYulio’s and the surrounding area. While Nicky had no children, he considered his employees at DeYulio’s his family.
He loved being active and spent his free time at the YMCA or out on the water surrounded by his family and friends.
Nicky is survived by his brother, Victor Paul DeYulio, his sister, Patricia Oxer and her husband Robert as well as his nieces and nephews, Lisa Taylor and her husband Michael, Jennifer Oxer, Christopher Oxer, Lauren Moore and her husband David and RJ Oxer.
Besides his parents, Nicholas is predeceased by his sister in law, Noreen Cooney DeYulio.
